The Force's tennis team has won the Shenzhen Police Friendly Cup after defeating the Shenzhen police tennis team in an annual friendly meet.

A total of seven matches were played in May at the Police Sports and Recreation Club. The team fielded by the Police Tennis Club was down 1-3, but recovered strongly by winning the next three games with the final score at 4-3.

The Hong Kong Police team lost last year's tournament to Shenzhen.

Deputy Commissioner Operations, Mr Lau Yuk-kuen, who partnered with CWDIV PSUC 1 Inspector Clement Lee, won the last game by narrowly defeating the Shenzhen pair consisting of the Deputy Chief of Shenzhen Police, Mr Yu Xinguo, and a Shenzhen Police unit commander, Mr Lau Tung-hei.

The other three double matches were won by DCP Management, Mr Lee Ming-kwai, and UB KTDIV Station Sergeant Ricky Wong; WTS District Operations Officer, Mr Patrick Pang, and Police Translator, Mr Raymond Wong; and SW Inspector, Mr Lee Wing-cheung and his wife, who is a Sergeant at the Identification Bureau.
