A Disciplined Services Joint Exhibition to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) was held earlier this month at the Piazza Areas of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon.

Organised by the Security Bureau in conjunction with the Hong Kong Police Force, the Fire Services Department, the Correctional Services Department, the Immigration Department, the Customs and Excise Department, the Government Flying Service, the Civil Aid Service and the Auxiliary Medical Service, the two-day exhibition attracted tens of thousands of visitors.

Police equipment, including a marine launch, a Saxon armoured personnel carrier, a Police motorcycle and powerful firearms were on display at the Police booth which did not escape the attention of the visitors.

Fully equipped Police specialised personnel such as Emergency Unit and crack Airport Security Unit officers were also on hand to answer questions and to demonstrate the use of equipment for the visitors.

The exhibition focused on the work and services of the disciplined and auxiliary services, their contribution and achievements particularly in the past five years, and their plans for serving the community in the future.

"Through the Joint Exhibition, members of the public will better understand the work and services of the disciplined and auxiliary services, their commitment to providing quality service to the people of Hong Kong and their contribution to maintaining the security and prosperity of the HKSAR," a Government spokesman said.

The opening ceremony was jointly officiated by the Secretary for Security, Mrs Regina Ip, Commissioner Tsang Yam-pui and the heads of seven other disciplined and auxiliary services.
