Following the success of a juvenile crime seminar held last November with secondary school principals and discipline teachers, WTS District organised another similar seminar in March for primary school teachers at the JPC Clubhouse.

The seminar was aimed at building closer cooperation with primary schools to prevent students from committing crimes and promoting the JPC School Club Scheme.

Over 30 teachers/discipline teachers from the district's primary schools attended the seminar. Police Community Relations Officers took the opportunity to introduce JPC activities and also encouraged schools to form JPC school clubs.

The participants expressed concern over the increase in shoplifting cases by students. They agreed that organising healthy extra-curricular activities would help prevent youths from mixing with bad company.

They also expressed appreciation of the good results achieved by the WTS JPCs in the Fight Crime Publicity Campaign 2001.
