Mong Kok officers commended

Prince Edward Area Committee Chairman, Mr Shing Yuen-hing and other members of the committee jointly presented flags to District Commander, Mr To Chun-wai; Deputy District Commander, Mr Peter Else, and District Operations Officer, Ms Annie Fonda in appreciation of their efforts to eradicate vice-related activities in Mong Kok during the past several months.

The operations included the removal of signboards and successfully recovering expenses from vice-operators for the removal of the signboards.

In early May, Police successfully smashed a cross boundary vice-syndicate in an operation codenamed 'Firelily'. To further combat vice activities in the district, Mong Kok district with assistance from Electrical and Mechanical Services Department and China Light and Power Company Limited cut off electricity supply to the signboards.

On behalf of Mong Kok Police District and Crime Wing Police Headquarters, Mr To thanked Mr Shing and other members of the committee for their support.

He gave an assurance that Mong Kok Police District would continue to carry out stringent operations to combat vice-related activities in the district.
