The holding of joint presentations of retirement souvenirs and long service medals and commendations is to encourage family members and friends of recipients to attend the ceremony.

Administration Wing of NTS, after consulting officers in the Region, earlier introduced a trial scheme to conduct the retirement ceremony on a Saturday morning to enable as many colleagues, friends and relatives to attend.

Opinion collected after the function indicated that colleagues were most satisfied with the scheme.

The attendance of friends and relatives added weight and warmth to the ceremony and this arrangement will continue in the foreseeable future.
