The Hong Kong Police College (College) held its Honorary College Advisor (HCA) appointment ceremony at AIA Tower, Fortress Hill on October 11. Commissioner Siu Chak-yee and the Force Management gathered with the HCAs to celebrate the appointment of new HCAs and share the training efforts of the College over the past year.


The Commissioner presented appointment certificates to the newly appointed HCAs and those reappointed upon expiry of their two-year tenure. In his welcome speech, the Commissioner thanked them for their staunch support and contributions to police training and development, which had not only enriched the training regime and fostered innovation, but also provided invaluable suggestions for tackling social challenges today. After the ceremony, the HCAs toured around the new training facilities and watched demonstrations of Chinese-style ceremonial uniforms and the latest training technologies to have a better understanding of the training development of the College.


The HCA Scheme has been launched since 2006, with 44 HCAs at present. The seven newly appointed HCAs are Legislative Council Member Mr Tang Fei, Former President of The Education University of Hong Kong Professor Cheung Yan-leung, Director of Centre for Learning Enhancement And Research of The Chinese University of Hong Kong Professor Chun Ka-wai, Former Commissioner Tsang Wai-hung, Former Deputy Commissioners Lau Yip-shing, Wong Chi-hung and Chau Kwok-leung.
