Eastern District (EDIST) held the EDIST National Security Education cum Youth Crime Prevention Seminar in North Point Police Station on June 20 for members of the education sector in EDIST to have a deeper understanding of the Hong Kong National Security Law (NSL) so that they could educate students about the rule of law and the conditions of our country, thereby enhancing their sense of national identity and awareness of law-abiding. Retired designated judge under NSL Mr To Ho-shing was invited to be the keynote speaker of the seminar to brief on NSL-related topics to principals and teachers of secondary schools, primary schools and kindergartens in EDIST.

With the approach of the summer holiday, information about summer jobs and cyber pitfalls was shared in the seminar to avoid students falling prey to scams. Through the event, EDIST hoped to exchange information on juvenile criminal psychology with the education sector and promote youth crime prevention events held by the Force to enhance mutual understanding and promote law-abiding and crime-prevention awareness among teenagers.
