The Force, together with the Commission on Children (CoC) and Social Welfare Department (SWD), held the Walk with Kids @ Healthy FUNday at Junior Police Call Permanent Activity Centre and Integrated Youth Training Camp at Pat Heung on June 22 for 70 children with special learning needs and their families. The Secretary for Labour and Welfare cum Vice-chairperson of CoC Mr Chris Sun, Commissioner Siu Chak-yee, Director of Social Welfare Ms Charmaine Lee and members of CoC attended the event and interacted with the participants to understand the challenges faced by parents in taking care of children with special needs. Over 80 police volunteers, including members of the Vulnerable Witness Support Cadre, together with other volunteers from CoC, SWD and China Resources Group, took part in the event.


The eventful day featured police car exhibition, zip-line, obstacle race, magic show, molkky and fingerprint bookmark workshop. Anti-fraud messages were delivered to the participants through the magic show, reminding them to stay alert for scams. The parents expressed their appreciation for the event’s harmonious and inclusive environment and the volunteers were grateful for the opportunity to serve the community. The participants could also know more about the contributions by various sectors to child protection.
