警聲

The Force took part in the "Hong Kong Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics" with other law enforcement departments at Sha Tin Sports Ground on April 30. A total of 1 327 Force runners and their family members turned up for the annual event, which was organised by the Hong Kong Special Olympics to raise fund for people with intellectual disabilities.

Acting Commissioner Chau Kwok-leung was one of the officiating guests cheering for the Force participants at the opening ceremony. The Torch Run started with the Force's torch leader, New Territories South Regional Commander Lui Hon-kwok, leading Force runners and their families on a 4.5-kilometre route along Shing Mun River in high spirits.

The Force runners raised more than $650,000 out of a total donation of about $2 million. The top three fund-raising formations were Hong Kong Island Region, Kowloon West Region and New Territories North Region.
