The Stores Management Division (SMD) held two annual seminars at the Police Headquarters on February 9, with the participation of over 240 police officers and civilian staff taking charge of administrative and support work.

The first speaker was Chief Corruption Prevention Officer of the Independent Commission Against Corruption Mr Wai Chi-pang, who talked about the Best Practice Checklist on Government Procurement of General Goods and Services, focusing on the procurement processes and anti-corruption information. He also pointed out some common corruption loopholes and suggested some preventive measures.

Then the SMD representatives explained the procurement procedures for goods/services at a value of or below $1.43 million. The talk covered a number of topics such as procurement principles, contract monitoring and common irregularities of direct procurement.

The presentation materials of the seminar have been uploaded to the POINT's SMD webpage for reference.
