Director of the Economic Crime Investigation Bureau (ECIB) of Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department Mr Huang Shouying led a delegation to attend the Guangdong-Hong Kong (GD-HK) Economic Crime Investigation Exchange Session hosted by the Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) at the Police Headquarters from January 9 to 11.

The delegates discussed with Chief Superintendent Wong Ying-wai and other officers of CCB the challenges brought by the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect (SHHKSC) on economic crime investigation and its implications on Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect (SZHKSC), ways of co-operation between the Mainland anti-scam centres and the Force, as well as the economic crime intelligence exchange mechanism between GD and HK.

CCB then arranged the delegates to exchange views with the Enforcement Division of the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong on the trend of cross-boundary securities crimes relating to SHHKSC and SZHKSC, as well as the regulatory regimes about financial activities in these places. The attendees agreed that the enforcers and regulators in HK and GD should enhance information exchange to curb these crimes.
