Director of Operations Tang Ping-keung and Marine Regional Commander Lam Hiu-tong hosted the Annual Liaison Gathering of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Maritime Law Enforcement Agencies on February 28 at the Police Sports and Recreation Club.


Attending the event were about 100 delegates from the Guangdong Border Defence Bureau, Guangdong Coast Guard Corps, Guangdong Provincial Government Office for Combatting Smuggling, Guangdong Sub-Administration of Customs, Guangdong Marine and Fisheries Inspection Bureau, Customs Service of Macao, as well as local officers from the Marine Department, Customs and Excise Department, Immigration Department, Fire Services Department, Government Flying Service and Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department.


Mr Tang thanked the Guangdong and Macao counterparts and local government departments for their co-operation in tackling illegal immigrants, smuggling, maritime crime, illegal fishing as well as their contribution in performing search and rescue missions. He hoped that all maritime law enforcement agencies in the three jurisdictions would continue to strengthen liaison in the coming year.
