The Regional Crime Prevention Office of New Territories South, Police Community Relations Office of Sha Tin District and Ma On Shan Division (MOSDIV) jointly conducted a security awareness seminar for members of Project CARE in Ma On Shan on January 4 in light of a recent upsurge in burglaries against village houses. Over 20 representatives from Sai Kung North Rural Committee, Tai Po District Council and Shap Sze Heung attended the talk.

Project CARE was launched in 2014 in a bid to deliver fight crime messages via social media to promote neighbourhood watch and combat quick cash crime. With the co-operation between villagers and the Force, the figure of burglary in MOSDIV decreased significantly in 2016 as compared with that of 2015. In this regard, Divisional Commander of MOSDIV Wong Tsz-bun presented a flag to the Village Representatives of Shap Sze Heung to thank the villagers for their support.
