The Police College arranged for Chief Inspector Cheung Man-chuen, Senior Inspectors Cheng Chak-yan and Chan Yuen-kau to attend the "Leadership in Action" course at the Queensland Police Service Academy in Brisbane, Australia, from October 24 to November 11.

The residential course equipped the trainees with contemporary management and leadership strategies in policing work. Fellow officers from the Queensland Police Service, Queensland Fire and Rescue Service as well as Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau shared their management experience with the Force officers to enhance their public administration skills. During the newly-added one-week placement programme, the Force officers followed local frontline officers on patrol, and visited various police units, including a detention centre, provincial anti-crime command units, intelligence and security command units, to learn about their daily work and challenges.

The Force officers said the course had strengthened their leadership abilities and provided an opportunity for them to establish links with overseas police officers at both managerial and working levels.
